Meeting Minutes

The Association Secretary is in charge of typing up the minutes of the annual meeting and any special meetings held by the board. They then mail them out along with the agenda for the next meeting to everyone in the association. The annual meeting is usually held the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

Date: Saturday May 28th, 2023

 

Location: Jackson Town Hall

 

Attendees: 14 Members/Property Owners

 

  1. Meeting Call to Order:

     

The meeting was called to order by Association President Ted Anderson at 9:05 am. He welcomed the attendees and thanked them for attending the meeting.

 

  1. Minutes of the Last Meeting:

     

Secretary Theresa Quast reviewed 2022 minutes. Motion to approve by Rich Graham and seconded by Bob Brown. All in favor. Minutes approved.

 

  1. Treasurer’s Report:

     

President Ted Anderson presented Phil Hoss, Treasurer’s Report in Phill’s absence.

Report from treasurer Phil Hoss as follows:

Beginning balance April 30th, 2021, is $5,732.54

Ending balance as of May 23, 2022 - $5,631.86

Income Memberships $330.00

Expenses:

 

1. Phil Moser – Electricity $152.55

2. Kathy Vandergon – Web Page $89.90

3. Kathy Vandergon – BCLRA dues $50.00

4. Dept. of Finance - WI Registration $50.00

5. Austin Lake Greenhouse – Dan Brown -Plat $80.00

 

Ted Anderson made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and seconded by Bob

Brown. All in favor. The report was approved.

 

  1. Old Business:

     

Lake Oxygen/Aerator Performance:

a. Sept. 16, 2022 - Loons Left

b. Nov 30, 2022 – Aerator turned on

c. April 11, 2023 - First loon back to the lake

d. April 16, 2023 - Aerator turned off

e. April 24, 2023 - Ice out

Fall Social Critique

 

a. No social for 2022

 

  1. Nomination and Election of Directors:

     

a. No vacant positions open, but Treasurer Phil Hoss resigned his position.

 

b. New Treasure nomination – John Vandergon volunteered and Ted Anderson

seconded the motion and all in favor. New treasurer, John Vandergon.

 

  1. New Business:

     

a. A significant decrease in dues brought into the association this year. The

association needs a way to contact residents to get dues paid to help the

association. Theresa Quast will type up a letter indicating the need for dues to be

paid and mail it out with the mailing at the beginning of June with the Summer

Social flyer. Ted Anderson will follow up with details on “What the Association

does for it’s members”

 

b. Fiberoptics are being installed at Clearsky and Greeder and they will get internet

access.

 

c. There was a fire danger alert and Jeff Woodcock said he saw a truck/boat

blocking the Fire Department access on the lake. He took pictures and sent them

to the township. Ted Anderson said he would look into getting additional posts to

limit unauthorized access.

 

d. Discussion around VRBO’s on the lake. John Vandergon indicated that the

county is working on an ordinance. Lake owners can get approved for a VRBO at

this time, and the county typically approves, but leaves open the option of

revoking their initial approval.

 

e. Lake Association Social – The Graham’s agreed to host the social this year. The

date will be July 22, 2023. Theresa Quast will make a flyer and send out a

mailing at the beginning of June.

 

f. Lions Club Chicken Dinner – The week of July 4, 2023. John Vandergon

discussed the Lions Club’s Chicken Dinner – The money raised from this is

reinvested into the community. Please consider donating. You can reach out to

John for tickets to the dinner or if you want to make a donation. $15 per ticket.

 

g. Fire Department – Ted Anderson discussed the raffle that Fire Department is

having to raise money for Extractor equipment for emergencies. $20 donation

and the prizes are 1. Polaris UTV 570 2. 6.5 x 12 trailer 3. $200 gift card – Please

consider donating.

 

h. High water on the island killed the trees and loon protection. Loons are on the

island this year. Ted Anderson discussed what we could do to protect the loons

now that we have more land show on the island. Ted will follow up on additional

options for protection.

 

  1. Adjournment and Door Prize Winner:

     

a. Machelle Anderson won the lantern and Debbie Woodcock won the drink/cell

phone holders.

 

b. John Vandergon motioned to adjourn the meeting and Machelle Anderson second

the motion. Ted Anderson adjourned the meeting at 9:45 am.

 

 

Board Meeting May 28th, 2023

 

Meeting called to order by President Ted Anderson at 9:50am. President Ted Anderson

welcomed the new members. Quick discussion regarding clarity testers and John Vandergon

stated that the kits were expired and no longer available. No other topics for discussion needed.

 

Motion to adjourn by Ted Anderson and second by Theresa Quast. All in favor and motion

carried at 9:35am. The board for the following term shall be: Ted Anderson – President; John

Vandergon – Treasurer; Theresa Quast – Secretary and Vice President; Bob Brown – Director; Rick Graham – Director.
